Q. Where/when do we play?
A. Aus Money Tennis runs every Monday (except some public holidays) 7pm to 10pm at Seymour Shaw Tennis Centre. You do not have to enter every Monday, play when it suits your schedule. Different locations/days/doubles may occur in the future, depending on popularity/volunteers.
Q. How much does it cost? How do I pay?
A. $30. This covers court hire, new balls and prize money. Pay on arrival via cash, bank transfer(PayID) or Paypal. Credit cards/EFTPOS not accepted.
Q. How do I enter?
A. SMS 0478 578 024 or email [email protected] your full name and the draw you would like to enter: elite, advanced or intermediate. After you enter once, you will be put on the SMS list that goes out every Sunday noon enquiring if you would you like to enter the comp for the following night.
Q. Where can I park? Public Transport?
A. There is a 4hr council car park at Miranda Youth Centre on Central Rd Miranda, and parking along Parkside Ave. Miranda Train station, which also has several bus stops, is a 7 minute walk to the courts.
Q. What is the level like?
A. Elite is UTR 9-11, Advanced is UTR is UTR 6-9 and Intermediate is 3-6. In layman terms elite are tournament level players, advanced is local competition level players and intermediate players are able to serve and have rally of 3 shots consistently against the same level player.
Q. Who can enter?
A. All ages and genders, as long as you are elite, advanced or intermediate in skill. Sorry, no beginners.
Q. What's the format?
A. Players get 3 matches regardless win or lose (dependent on numbers). Each match is 1 set, 3 point deuces, with a tiebreak played if the set reaches 5-5. Win all 3 matches to get prize money. Or lose your first match which enters you into consolations and win your next 2 matches to get prize money.
Q. What happens if I enter but cannot make it due to whatever reason?
A. Let me know by text or phone call as soon as possible that you are unable to attend.
Q. What's the atmosphere like?
A. Aus Money Tennis aims to foster a friendly and competitive atmosphere, where people can have fun playing tennis, improving their game and socialising. We do not condone poor sportsmanship, disruptive/disrespectful behaviour and cheating. Repeat offenders will be banned.
